(OPEN):
WITH ONLY A FEW WEEKS BEFORE "ELECTION DAY", ON NOVEMBER 6TH, "A-A-R-P CALIFORNIA" IS REMINDING EVERYONE ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF VOTING--THROUGH ITS "BE THE DIFFERENCE, VOTE"-CAMPAIGN--AND ABOUT THE ISSUES THAT MATTER MOST TO OLDER CALIFORNIANS.  NANCY MCPHERSON IS THE GROUP'S STATE-DIRECTOR...

(MCPHERSON):
"
WE REPRESENT OVER THREE-POINT-THREE-MILLION MEMBERS--THROUGHOUT THE STATE.  AND, WE'RE TRYING TO MAKE SURE THAT ISSUES OF PARTICULAR IMPORTANCE TO OLDER CALIFORNIANS ARE FRONT-AND-CENTER.  THESE INCLUDE MEDICARE, SOCIAL SECURITY, PRESCRIPTION-DRUG COSTS, FAMILY-CAREGIVING, AND EVEN AFFORDABLE-HOUSING.  AMERICANS OVER 50 CONSISTENTLY SHOW UP MORE OFTEN TO VOTE.  AND, ALL VOTERS SHOULD FIND OUT WHERE THE CANDIDATES STAND--AND THEN USE THAT INFORMATION, TO INFORM THEIR CHOICES.  DEMOCRACY CAN'T WORK WITHOUT COMMITTED CITIZENS--AND VOTERS OVER 50 NEED TO MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD, AT THE BALLOT-BOX.  IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO ENSURE THAT THEIR ISSUES ARE PRIORITIZED--BY CANDIDATES AND ELECTED-OFFICIALS, ALIKE."

(CLOSE):
