(CHAPMAN):
"
OVER HALF-A-MILLION AMERICANS SERVED IN 'OPERATION DESERT STORM' AND 'DESERT SHIELD'--MAKING IT THE LARGEST AMERICAN WAR OF THE 20TH-CENTURY THAT DOESN'T HAVE A MEMORIAL IN WASHINGTON.  BUILDING ONE WOULD BE A FITTING TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO SERVED, THOSE WHO DIED, AND THE FAMILIES WHO SUPPORTED THEM.  MEMORIALS ARE OFTEN DELAYED FOR TOO LONG--AND MANY OF THOSE WHO ARE HONORED NEVER SEE THEM.  THAT'S WHY WE AT 'AMVETS' ARE DEDICATED TO ENSURING THAT THE VETERANS OF 'DESERT STORM' WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THIS BUILT, IN THEIR LIFETIME--AND TO BRING THEIR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN TO SEE IT.  THIS 'VETERANS DAY', WE STILL NEED THE PUBLIC'S HELP, TO MAKE THE 'NATIONAL DESERT STORM WAR MEMORIAL' A REALITY.  HELP US SUPPORT EFFORTS TO ESTABLISH THIS MEMORIAL ON THE 'NATIONAL MALL', BY VISITING 'AMVETS'-DOT-ORG."
