Public Service Announcements from the Entertainment Software Rating Board Concerning Video-Game Ratings

Since 1994, the non-profit Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has assigned ratings to virtually every computer and video game sold in the U.S. These ratings (printed on the front of the game package), and the content descriptors (printed on the back), provide consumers with valuable information about a game's recommended age-appropriateness--giving parents the needed guidance to make wise choices concerning which games their children should play.
We have produced four public service radio announcements (two 30- and two 15-second spots) to help parents better understand why using the rating system is so important. These spots share real-life experiences with video games--along with instructing how the video-game rating system can be a useful tool with parents and families.
Desde 1994, la Junta de Clasificación de Software de Entretenimiento (ESRB, por sus siglas en inglés), una entidad no lucrativa, ha asignado información sobre clasificaciones prácticamente a todos los juegos de computadora y de video que se venden en los EE.UU. Estas clasificaciones (impresas en el frente del paquete del juego), y los descriptores del contenido (impresos en el reverso), le brindan al público consumidor información confiable sobre el grupo de edad apto para el juego y los tipos de contenido que de hecho tiene el juego.
Hemos producido cuatro anuncios de radio de servicio público (dos anuncios de 30 segundos, y dos de 15 segundos) para ayudar a que los padres entiendan mejor por qué es tan importante utilizar el sistema de clasificación, y dónde se puede encontrar más información sobre éste. Los anuncios tratan directamente un asunto que atañe a todos los padres: tomar decisiones bien fundadas respecto a qué videojuegos son apropiados para sus hijos y su familia.
